Replace Religion with Feminism...

Ophelia Benson has copy and pasted a lengthy comment on her blog as a post (she's excellent with the whole ctrl+C ctrl+V thing on her blog). The comment is by AJ Milne of Accidental Weblog on “Of course, however” and he basically explains how mockery of religion should be normalized and allowed.

I found the whole comment quite amusing, not because I disagree with mocking religion, or that it should be normalized and allowed, because I really do agree that these things should indeed happen. I am no stranger to mocking religion and encourage it from others as well. On that I have no disagreement.

But as I read it I shook my head because of the parallels between religion and feminism, and how the supporters of feminism, of whom Ophelia is one, constantly act like theists. Their whining about being oppressed, mocked, and made fun of by others is the damned same, as are most of their rhetorical tactics, and their stunning ability to lie and move goal posts. The feminists could give the theists a run for their money any day.

So if you are a feminist and you are going to say, or agree, that mocking religion is perfectly fine and that it should be normalized and allowed, then shut the fuck up when someone does the same shit to your irrational, deluded, and insane feminist beliefs. Feminism is just as ridiculous and just as dangerous as religion is, though they have the dogma of patriarchy, rape culture, and constant misogyny which are treated as holy as religious scripture. The radfems are batshit insane and will go to extreme lengths to silence anyone who disagrees with them... Very reminiscent of the batshit insane religious fundamentalists that basically do the same thing.

So Ophelia, if you get mocked for being a feminist and you get all butthurt about it, too fucking bad! People have every right to mock your ridiculous irrational beliefs in the same way. YOU agreed that people should be able to mock and ridicule religion-that includes yours.

You can't have it both ways Ophi. Sorry.

"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you." - George Carlin

I can see how you'd confuse the two.

I hope the same applies to you.

    1. LOL!! You are just like a theist defending their religion and book of bullshit, only yours is bullshit information for and from feminists. I don`t expect you to understand much seeing as how you are as rational as a theist... And that is actually mildly insulting to the theists.

Thats the beauty of it. WB has agency.. she can take criticism without running to mama, unlike the FtTB crybabys. IMO, she is at the self-actualization level of psychologist Abraham Maslow's theory 'Hierarchy of Needs'.. which means she's past the 'Self-Esteem' level, secure in her confidence in herself, having worked hard to earn the respect of her peers. The baboons dont have this.. because they are a circle jerk, and have never received respect from genuine achievers.

Doesnt PeeZus say "Listen to the women"? Here.. listen to a woman against feminism. Her life was going down the drain in the religion of feminism, until she met MRAs.

  2. Modern, mainstream feminism is indefensible from a rationalist or skeptical standpoint. It bears little resemblance to the fanciful "work for equality" that its advocates preach publicly.

  3. This is an interesting article written by a HJ Hornbeck, called a woman on the internet, telling us all over again that only women get threatened online, that our culture is very flippant about sexual violence (when it happens to women, when women laugh at a man who got his penis cut off, it's totally OK?) and asks men to support women (because women are soooo happy and quick to support teh menz who are feeling victimized or oppressed, right?)

If they are the same person (which I find highly probable given the opinions and the fact that AFAIK Hornbeck is not as common as Smith or Jones), it tells a lot about the reasons this man/woman has to argue the points they've been arguing here.

    1. I note the article was written in November of 2011. The first time PZ Myers went public with rape threats dates from July 6th, 2012[1], and on September 6th 2012 PZ noted "in the last year, [religious hate email] has been outnumbered 10 to 1 by hate mail from obsessed cretins who also proudly tell me they’re atheists and skeptics"[2]. So while it’s no longer true that PZ Myers has it light, it was true at the time that article was published.

“that our culture is very flippant about sexual violence (when it happens to women, when women laugh at a man who got his penis cut off, it's totally OK?)”

So to argue that our culture isn’t flippant about sexual violence, you point to a group of women acting flippantly about sexual violence?

"men to support women (because women are soooo happy and quick to support teh menz who are feeling victimized or oppressed, right?)”

      They are, actually:

  4. Funny thing is.. some of the smarter conservative religious folks who see through feminism, see feminism as worse than religion. Below is an interesting interview with Hitch.. and he is challenged to argue against "secularism poisons everything".. for e.g universities in US are highly secular and their humanities dept spout nonsensical stuff such as feminism.
Hitch is wonderful in this.. It comes up in Part 2, but I would recommend listening to all 4 parts
Dennis Prager & Christopher Hitchens debate Religion (1 of 4)
